Mei debuted as an idol in 2014 with the military-themed unit "Tenkou Shoujo Kagekidan" (later renamed "Tenko Shojo*"). She announced her graduation from the group on September 10, 2019. Beginning in September 2016, Mei has hosted readings of original essays, short stories, and scripts entitled "Mei Nadeshiko" (夢詠撫子).
