After spending several years doing comedy in Vancouver, British Columbia, Banks moved to Toronto, where he began acting. Boyd's first roles were in various comedy series such as the cult favourite The Kids in the Hall (1988). His unique character looks and subtle performances on camera caught the eye of Toronto's top casting directors and Banks now works regularly in film and television from comedies to murder mysteries!
