He is best known for his role in Tommy and the Wildcat (1998). Hietanen first rose to popularity in 1994 when he won the popular Tenavatähti children's singing competition. As a teenager, he refused many of the proposed film roles because he wanted to focus on football. After finishing his football career he has returned to music.
