After being scouted in Harajuku, she entered the audition for Fuji TV's variety show "Idol Road" and won the Grand Prix in 2005. Takanashi's career as actress began when she starred in the 2008 film adaptation of the Japanese novel "GOTH" as one of the lead characters, Morino Yoru. Her breakthrough came a year later with the 33rd entry of Super Sentai series, Samuri Sentai Shinkenger in which she starred as Shiraishi Mako / Shinken Pink. Takanashi received her first starring role in TBS renzoku dorama "Houkago Groove". Subsequently, she appeared in NHK Asadora "Hanako to Anne" as Daigo Ayako, friend of Hanako.
